The gold inlaid and diamond enclosed temples, pagodas in Myanmar

As the country possesses many Buddhist temples and pagodas, Myanmar shows up in front of tourists the scene of brilliant gold-covered stupas in the sun and the statues of diamonds and rubies inlaid.

Shwedagon Pagoda
Shwedagon Pagoda: As one of the most famous temples in Southeast Asia, Shwedagon impresses by a height of 99 m, located on Singuttara hill. Shwedagon Pagoda is considered to be the most sacred Buddhist temple in Myanmar, possessing the remains of 4 previous Buddhas. The main stupa of the temple is gold plated, at the top is decorated with 5,448 diamonds and 2,317 rubies. A 76 carat diamond (15 grams) is put on the top of the stupa.
Swe Taw Myat
Swe Taw Myat: Also located in Yangon, Swe Taw Myat is designed symmetrically to the inside with gold inlaid statues and objects. This is one of the most beautiful temples in Myanmar. Every year, when coming here to perform the ceremony, local people often bring gold leaves to put on the Buddha statue, pray for blessing.
Kyaiktiyo
Kyaiktiyo: Located in Mon state, about 200 km northeast of Yangon, the small temple of Kyaiktiyo is impressed by lying on the edge of a large, solid golden rock on a high and dangerous cliff for thousands of years. It owns quite a lot of Buddha statues and valueable golden bell. Some Buddha statues in the temple are covered with thousands of precious stones and diamonds.

Ananda
Ananda: The grandeur and grandiose combined with fine details and the golden tower helped Ananda become one of the remarkable temples in Myanmar. The most impressive thing for visitors to the temple is the gleaming gold tower under the sun. You can see from that far away. Inside the temple, you will see one of the 4 golden inlaid Buddha statues higher than 9 m in the central room.
Dhammayangyi
Dhammayangyi: Located in the middle of the famous ancient Bagan, Dhammayangyi temple is made of fired bricks shaped like giant pyramids. People here say that in Bagan, want to see the charm go to Ananda temple, want to see the noble go to Thatbyinniu temple, and if you want to see the grandeur, visit Dhammayangyi temple. The temple stands out with golden inlaid or color painted Buddha statues at the main doors and on the wall of the corridor.
Taung Kalat
Taung Kalat: Located on a high volcano, 730 meters above sea level, southwest of Popa Mount, the Buddhist monastery at Taung Kalat is one of Myanmar's most impressive sacred places. After climbing the 777 stairs, watching the monkeys on the way, you will reach the monastery and admire the panoramic view of spectacular Bagan ancient citadel from above. This monastery on the mountain is picturesque with golden-clad tower peaks hovering in the sky.
Mahamuni
Mahamuni: Located in southwestern Mandalay city, more than 700 km from Yangon, Mahamuni is a famous Buddhist relic and an important pilgrimage center of Myanmar Buddhists. This destination stands out with a Buddha statue 3.8 m high, weighs 6.5 tons made of gold and decorated with precious stones. Buddhists and visitors will inlay the statues of gold leaf layers overlapping each other.
Kyeik Than Lan
Kyeik Than Lan: One of the top attractions in Mawlamyine, southeastern Myanmar city, is Kyeik Than Lan Pagoda. In addition to the beautiful architecture and impressive gold-covered stupa, this temple also possesses impressive scenery. This is also the best sunset view in Mawlamyine.

Hsinbyume is a huge white temple in the north of Mingun village (Myanmar). The temple was built by a king exclusively for his late wife.
