The unique "kissing dinosaur" dome in China

The "kissing dinosaur" dome was built to promote a fossil center in the extreme north of China. This unique project attracts the curiosity of many visitors.

Located in the far north on the Sino-Mong border, the city of Erenhot (also known as Erlian) has two towering Brontosaurus lizard statues. Each dinosaur is 34 m wide and 19 m high. The size of the whole project is up to 80 m long. Photo: Daisy Lin.

Erenhot is located in the Gobi desert, established as the only train trade route between Inner and Outer Mongolia in the 1950s. Before that, from 1920, the city began to be famous for the discovery of dinosaur fossils in Erlian basin.
