The area where the Four Corners were located was once part of Mexico until 1848 when the Mexican-American war ended and the land belonged to the United States. In 1868, the government began surveying territories and lands for the purpose of forming states. On January 4, 1896, the state of Colorado was formed, followed by Utah, New Mexico and then Arizona. The government then built a memorial to mark the point where the four states converged, and the Four Corners were born.

In the past, many people still doubted the accuracy of the Four Corners. Several geodetic surveyors have pointed out that the monument should have been located in a different location, more than half a kilometer away. However, the US government vetoed and the boundary in this place has been maintained to this day.

Due to its arid location, there are no attractions other than the monument. Visitors flock here only to stand on a bronze circle marking the meeting point of the four states and take souvenir photos. If you visit, you can enjoy more fried bread of the Navajo tribe. You can eat it, or with honey, sugar-soaked cinnamon powder or minced beef. Visitors can also drop by Navajo products, crafts, jewelry, and food display center to buy souvenirs.
