In Bangkok, street food is always a highlight to attract domestic and foreign tourists. However, in recent years, high-class restaurants have bloomed and increased in quality, making gourmet travelers have more reasons than ever to come to the Thai capital, one of which is Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar.

Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar

Open in early July, Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar is currently the highest restaurant and bar in Thailand. Although "born late" compared to most restaurants or bars in Bangkok, but this restaurant is not inferior in terms of magnificence or elegance. Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar "occupied" the 76th and 77th floors of the skyscraper King Power Mahanakhon 314 m high, surpassing most buildings in the city.

The best location of the restaurant is the outdoor area surrounded by transparent glass and lots of trees. The gaze of every customer immediately focused on the breathtaking views of the city at night.

"The drawing of the outdoor area is based on the concept of an urban forest, surrounding diners with the green of trees. You will imagine being sitting in a forest in the sky," said the Wilson Associates briefing on design.

The menu of SkyBar is extremely diverse, including European and Asian dishes. American chef Joshua Cameron used to work at Eleven Madison Park in New York - the best restaurant in the world in 2017.

During a recent visit, the CNN Travel team tried a number of outstanding dishes including Andaman sea bass with Thai sauce nahm jim, panna cotta made from uni (sea bum) in Hokkaido Japan and a plate of young Australian ribs cooked in 48 served with couscous, grape, and eggplant. You can choose a drink from the list of classic cocktails and over 100 wines. And the cuisine at this restaurant did not disappoint the diners, the freshness of the ingredients along with the professionalism of the chef's cooking process creates the fine dishes that you should try during your visit to Thailand.

Experience SkyWalk (aerial walk bridge) for free

A huge privilege when you come to eat and drink at Skybar is that you can easily go to the Mahanakhon SkyWalk observatory without charge, just two floors away. It owns the highest pedestrian bridge and rooftop bar (rooftop bar) in Thailand, at an altitude of 314m. The attraction here is the glass floor protruding from the edge of the building, evoking both excitement and fear. Before entering the podium, visitors must wear a pair of protective canvas shoes, covering the outside of their shoes to avoid slippery.

Both the restaurant and the observatory are part of King Power Mahanakhon, a complex project thought to be worth nearly $ 1 billion. Upon completion in 2016, it was recognized as "the tallest building in Thailand", replacing the location of Baiyoke Tower II - a 304-meter high hotel in Pratunam district, opened in 1997. However, only two years. Later, the title of King Power Mahanakhon was handed over to the Magnolias Waterfront Residences, also in Bangkok.

Even so, Mahanakhon is still one of the city's most striking buildings with an eye-catching three-dimensional "pixel" strip that curves along the steel and glass floors.
