Inside the hotel, Biden will rest before the inauguration

Traditionally, elect-presidents will rest in the Blair House on Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington DC in advance of the day of taking office.

Since 1977, all elect-presidents have stayed in the Blair House the night before the day they swear in the position of Commander in chief (President of USA is also the Commander in chief of army forces), according to The Washington Post. At present, the 195-year-olds hotel includes 4 complexes, with more than 120 rooms in an area of 5.600 m2, bigger than the White house. In September 2016 in the Blair House, Secretary of state of USA John Kerry met the global democratic icon from Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi, and also the person who won the peace Nobel title in 1991. 

The officials of the USA government also often hold dinners, official parties here. Despite less known about its historic meaning, the Blair House plays an important role in the diplomatic activities of UAS over the years. A person is jogging in the morning of December 2015 through the front face of 700 Jackson Place, an extra building of the Blair House. Before the pandemic, this is where people jog and tourists come to take photos as souvenirs as they visit the White House, Capital hill - the place that presidents of the USA take oath in office.
