In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, TIME magazine voted a list of the world's best places to honor individuals and businesses, destinations that have adapted, built and innovated in the face of hardship. From the nominations of a global network of reporters and collaborators, TIME has selected 100 names, targeting locations that provide new and exciting experiences.

While it's impossible to visit the amazing places right now, TIME describes all 100 destinations as worth exploring and dreaming about, until you get a chance to actually explore. In this list, the United States has 21 places, Europe contributes 28 places and Asia 24 places.

In Asia, Vietnam and Japan topped the list, with three destinations making the list. The Japanese destinations are Hokkaido, Osaka and Tokyo.

In Vietnam, Hanoi is described as "a thousand-year-old capital, still maintaining its identity when embracing changes. The street food culture is amazing, especially the pho - the city's signature ".

Ho Chi Minh City is rated as "A place with excellent cuisine that is loved by everyone. There are traditional Vietnamese dishes and restaurants with techniques and flavors of foreign cuisine".

Phu Quoc is hailed as the "jewel of Vietnam" - one of Asia's fastest-growing destinations, with numerous luxury resorts and large entertainment complexes. TIME forecasts that, when reopening for vaccinated tourists, Phu Quoc will attract a large number of international tourists with a 30-day visa exemption policy.

Other destinations in Southeast Asia in the top 100 are Desaru Coast (Malaysia); Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park (Thailand); Siem Reap (Cambodia); Siargao (Philippines), and Singapore.
