3 cafes with a view of rice fields in Hoi An

Hoi An is famed for its quiet atmosphere and slow pace of life but leaving downtown, visitors can enjoy even more peace, sipping coffee amid green rice fields.

Located on Nguyen Trai Street, Cam Chau Ward, about 3.5 kilometers from downtown Hoi An and two kilometers from Cua Dai Beach, this café overlooks a green rice field, allowing guests to take in the peaceful countryside while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Thanks to its unique location, the scenery around the cafe turns a golden yellow during rice harvest season.

In addition to coffee and drinks, the cafe also serves sweet cakes, fruits, hamburgers, steaks, and salmon with prices ranging from VND30,000 to 200,000 ($1.31-8.76).

The shop's interior is decorated with flowers and small ornamental plants.

Unlike Roving Chillhouse, which is often busy with groups of tourists, Xom Chieu is more peaceful and less crowded.

Xom Chieu café serves sugarcane juice, coffee and juice with prices from VND5,000 to 30,000.

About seven kilometers from downtown Hoi An is an old brick kiln abandoned for 20 years in Vinh Nam Village, Duy Vinh Commune of Duy Xuyen district.

In the past few years, the brick kiln has become a popular photo shooting place for tourists. In early 2020, a coffee shop overlooking a rice field was opened, attracting large crowds every day.

From the brick kiln to the cafe, there is a winding bamboo path running through the field. The rice field is still green in February and March and starts ripening with a golden yellow color in April, making it an ideal place for tourists.

The café is open from 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Its owner has turned the space into a farmstay that produces wine and tea, sells agricultural products, and offers camping and bungalows for guests to stay overnight.
